Splitting

Sending the whole file is a quiet overshare

Someone asks for proof of one payment and receives a document containing every payment you made that year. It happens because splitting felt like more effort than it is.

Take out the pages you needRuns in your browser

The overshare is the real cost. Page count is a nuisance; the twelve months of unrelated transactions are a disclosure you did not intend and cannot withdraw once the file has been sent.

Three ways to cut one document

Split at a page

One document becomes two, at the boundary you choose. Right for a report with an appendix that belongs to a different audience.

Extract a range

Pages four to seven come out as their own file and the original is untouched. This is the one people want most often.

Delete what should not be there

Everything stays except the pages you remove. Right when most of the document is relevant and a few pages are not.

All of it, in the page

  • Merges, splits, rotates and reorders pages, and deletes or extracts the ones you pick
  • Runs the page tools entirely in your browser: those files are never uploaded

Worth repeating because it is the point: this tool does not upload anything. The statement you are being careful with never leaves the device you are reading this on.

What the subscription is for

  • Let you download the result without a subscription — running the tool is open to everyone, the download is not
